The motion poster of The Zoya Factor dropped today showing actress Soman Kapoor dressed as the goddess of luck carrying cricket gear.
Judging from the poster that reads “India Ka Lucky Charm,” we can assume Kapoor’s character to be a ‘lucky charm’ for India to win cricket matches.
Kapoor’s reel name is “Zoya” in the film, however she revealed that her real name ‘Sonam’ means ‘good luck.’ Her father, Anil Kapoor named her so because he believed she brought him luck in life and career. This certainly corresponds to her character and the film’s synopsis, which gave the makers confidence that Kapoor was perfect for this role.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma, The Zoya Factor is based on the 2008 novel by author Anuja Chauhan, that follows the story of a girl who proves to be a lucky charm for the Indian cricket team during the 2011 World Cup.
The film also stars actor Dulquer Salmaan. It is slated for release on September 20, 2019.
