Actress Sobhita Dhulipala will soon be seen in the seven-episode Netflix Original, Bard of Blood, essaying the role of an Indian Intelligence Officer, Isha Khanna.
The series is based on the 2015 bestselling novel by author Bilal Siddiqi, revolving around the story of a former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent who was forced to quit after a failed mission in Balochistan.
Talking about the political thriller, the Made In Heaven actress said,
“This show explores gender dynamics and fear. All these subjects like agents and Taliban, we consume them in cinema, books or news. But we forget they are have beating hearts, they sweat, they get scared, etc.”
Dhulipala further elaborated on how she the Bard of Blood made her push her boundaries as an actor:
“I was surprised that not only was I pretty decent at doing action but also enjoyed it. It made me realize how as an actor you decide that ‘this is who I am, this is my definition.’ And suddenly you are cast in a show like this and put in a different situation. You suddenly feel ‘I won’t belong here’ but I was thriving in this environment.”
Bard of Blood is produced under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment led by actor Shah Rukh Khan. It also features actors Emraan Hashmi, Vineet Singh, Jaideep Ahlawat and Kirti Kulhari in the lead.
The series will release on Netflix on September 27, 2019.
