Shooting and production of content comes to a complete halt till 31 March 2020

The widespread outbreak of COVID-19 (Corona Virus) has put the world on lockdown.

On 15 March 2020, the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association issued a press release suspending the shooting for all entertainment content for all types of formats from 19 to 31 March 2020. This health advisory statement also includes closure of cinema halls, entertainment events, educational institutions, and sports activities in India.

The Producers Guild of India also released an official statement enforcing the suspension of production during this period.

Following the strict government directive, several production houses have postponed production of on-going projects. Furthermore, the paparazzi famous for capturing every move of celebrities have also announced a break to self-isolate as a safety measure:

Akshay Kumar starrer, Sooryavanshi was scheduled for release on 24 March 2020. However, it has been indefinitely postponed to a later date owing to the closure on cinemas.
