Actress Vidya Balan adds another feather in her cap for her next film.

The poster of Natkhat has been released where Balan is not only making her debut in a short film but also as a Producer in collaboration with RSVP Movies.

Speaking of exploring the role of a producer, she expressed,

It’s the beautiful and powerful story that called out to me in a way that made me want to act in it and also turn producer. And who better than RSVP to do it with!

Co-writter by Annukampa Harsh and Director Shaan Vyas, Natkhat is based on a mother who tries to educate her son about relationships, gender equality, importance of consent and respect for women.

In an interview, Balan elaborated on the synopsis saying,

The mother systematically tries to change a child’s perspective of the power equation, gender equality, respect and more, through stories. Conversations around the role of parenting, and what constitutes consent should be constantly evolving. We are both victims and perpetrators of patriarchy.

The tagline in the poster also highlights the premise of a pensive looking mother narrating a story to her young son – “Ek kahaani sunoge…?

Natkhat went on floors in July 2019. Made specially for internation film festivals, it will be premiered worldwide at the ‘We are Global’ Film Festival on June 2, 2020. You can watch it on their YouTube Channel.
